I’m a writer, editor, and communications professional living in Berkeley. My first book, Are We Ready for Mars? (Johns Hopkins University Press), spotlights the science and tech of traveling to the Red Planet. I’ve commissioned award-winning stories which have been featured in the likes of The Best Writing on Mathematics and The Best American Science and Nature Writing. I was an editor at Nautilus for more than 10 years. My journalism has been recognized by The New Yorker and others. I’m a graduate of the Columbia Journalism School and studied philosophy at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
